The Serenity Zone team is comprised of licensed professionals and master’s level interns each with a broad variety of specialties that support a wide range of individual needs. We serve clients of all ages and offer individual, family, and couples counseling.

Sahra Robinson

LCSW-R, SMC-C, CAMS-2, CTMH, CCATP

Sahra is the owner of Serenity Zone LCSW, PLLC. She attended Wurzweiler School of Social Work. Sahra is SIFI (Seminar in Field Instruction) certified and brings more than 24 years of clinical and administrative experience to each client she serves.

Sahra holds degrees and licensure in the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker Registered (LCSW-R), Stress Management Coach Certified (SMC-C) and Certified Anger Management Specialist-2 (CAMS-2). In addition, she is certified in Neurofeedback and Biofeedback through BrainCore and furthermore is certified through the National Association of Anger Management – NAMA; accepting court mandated/and non-mandated referrals.

Sahra works with adult individuals, couples, families, and groups while focusing and encompassing Neurofeedback (Neurotherapy). Neurofeedback is an FDA approved, empirically proven & evidence based approach. She combines other therapeutic modalities such as: Cognitive Behavioral, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Psychodynamic, Solution Focused Brief, etc. All therapeutic treatment plans are tailored to meet the unique therapeutic needs of each client.

  • Agnes Marcano

    Agnes is a down-to-earth psychotherapist passionate about helping individuals develop inner strength, discover different perspectives, and become empowered. Engaging individuals to reframe their thinking to promote growth in a way that helps them to explore their unrealized potential. At the same time, individuals can address any concern in a safe, nonjudgmental space. Agnes believes tailoring therapy to the individual helps a person to examine their narrative and acquire strategies that enable them in their personal and professional life. She incorporates mindfulness, a strength-based approach, and behavioral methodology to help restructure negative self-talk, negative thought patterns, and doubts that keep individuals stuck, which creates an opportunity for growth and positive change.

  • Amanda Dawson

    Amanda works with individuals of all ages struggling to be their best versions of themselves. She has experience working with those experiencing, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma. Amanda empowers her clients by encompassing compassion, empathy, and support. Amanda works by saying, “There is no one size fits all approach.” Therefore, when working with individuals, she collaborates with her clients to develop the most effective treatment modality. Amanda utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy as some techniques.

    She also holds group therapy sessions for teens battling self-esteem and confidence.

    In her personal time, Amanda finds physical activity to be a form of self-care and therapy. She spends time with her family and enjoys being outdoors.

  • Ava Dweck

    Advanced Clinical Intern

    Ava Dweck (she/her) is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling student in her final year at Antioch University. Ava is an artist and a mother and both of these profoundly inform her creative, collaborative and trauma informed approach to counseling. Ava believes each human is the expert on their life and will work with you to tailor her counseling approach to your unique needs and goals. Her favorite approaches include Somatic and Narrative therapy which stems from her background in the arts and her love for storytelling and the body’s deep wisdom. Ava specialized in Trauma Counseling at Antioch. She is especially interested in perinatal mental health and birth trauma, grief, sexuality, eating disorders and working with young people and new parents. Ava is a fierce advocate for all marginalized communities and brings an intersectional lens to her work. She strives towards ongoing liberatory practices and learning and imagining new and healthier systems for existing. Ava is honored to join you on your healing journey.

  • Peter Grabowski

    Advanced Clinical Intern

    Peter Grabowski is a counseling intern who works with adults seeking support around anxiety, panic, and feeling stuck in their lives. He primarily works with individuals and takes a thoughtful, one-on-one approach to therapy.

    Peter values being warm, approachable, and genuinely non-judgmental. He believes that meaningful progress begins with feeling understood, not analyzed or rushed. His style is collaborative and curious, with an emphasis on listening closely, asking thoughtful questions, and helping clients make sense of their experiences at their own pace.

    Above all, Peter prioritizes the therapeutic relationship and the client’s individual goals. He views therapy as a space for honest reflection, growth, and forward movement—tailored to each person rather than driven by rigid techniques or labels. He is committed to meeting clients where they are and supporting real, sustainable change.

  • Estephany Vasquez

    Advanced Clinical Intern

    Estephany Vasquez is a bilingual mental health counselor-in-training with a strong foundation in trauma-informed and person-centered care. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Stony Brook University and brings years of experience working directly with youth and adults in residential and community-based mental health settings. Her background in recreational therapy and behavioral support has shaped her ability to build authentic connections and create emotionally safe environments where individuals can begin to heal.

    Fluent in both English and Spanish, Estephany is deeply committed to providing culturally responsive and inclusive care. She approaches each client with warmth, humility, and curiosity, honoring the unique identities and lived experiences that shape their journey. Her clinical work focuses on supporting individuals in feeling safe, seen, and heard—especially those navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, or life transitions.

    Estephany believes in the power of empathy, emotional insight, and collaborative growth. She brings a grounded, intuitive presence into her work, with a passion for helping clients discover their inner resilience and reclaim a sense of self that feels whole and empowered.

  • Joseph Luna

    Joseph completed his master's in clinical Mental Health Counseling at City College of New York. He works with adolescents in school settings, providing mental health support and fostering a positive environment for their development and has background in advocacy for the geriatric community to ensure essential resources like shelter, food, safety, medical care, and mental health support.

    Central to Joseph's approach is his belief in relational therapy, which empowers individuals by fostering connections to community, culture, and self. He works to establish a strong therapeutic relationship and collaborate with clients in creating behavioral and introspective techniques to increase confidence when facing life's challenges. Through his relational therapy framework and stress coaching techniques, Joseph promotes resilience and empowerment. Joseph's philosophy emphasizes self-growth through heightened self-awareness while also acknowledging the profound influence of environment and culture on an individual's identity.

    Motivated by a commitment to provide mental health care to disenfranchised communities, he is passionate about establishing accessible mental health support to all, regardless of their background or circumstances.

  • Ruzana Teterina

    Advanced Clinical Intern

    Ruzana Teterina (She/Her) is a therapist in training in the state of New York and is bilingual in English and Russian. She holds a B.S in Psychology, a M.S in Health Care Systems, and is currently pursuing her MSED in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as her CASAC-T certification at ST. John's University. Ruzana works predominantly with individual adults who undergo life challenges associated with Schizophrenia, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Alcohol/Drug Abuse, Suicide Ideation, and Anger Management. Her work is deeply rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Her passion for providing essential support to her clientele, allows her to utilize a combination of both - Person-Centered approach and Humanistic approach during sessions. By genuinely striving to be empathetic, compassionate, non-judgmental, and culturally aware, it allows her to create a warm, and trustworthy therapeutic alliance with her clients. Ruzana's core values, as well as beliefs, root from being confident that every human being deserves to exist in their most-higher self. Whether it being spiritually and/or physically, Ruzana believes that each individual is worthy of living a life full of fulfillment, purpose, and overall wellness. Her personal, as well as professional experiences, prepared Ruzana to collaboratively work with her clientele in order to create personalized treatment plans to fit each clients unique goals and needs.

    During the duration of her clinical expertise, Ruzana has learned that her endless devotion to being up to date with ethical principles of the counseling profession, prompts professionals such as herself, to not only uphold legal standards, but also permits her to treat clients with dignity and respect. Ruzana also believes that continuing professional education with connection to the mental health field, further strengths her commitment to ethical considerations. 

    Ultimately, Ruzana's goals stand firmly on assisting her clients with improving coping skills, increasing their self-awareness, enhancing their ability to communicate more effectively, and empowering their overall personal growth.

  • Megan Kessler

    Advanced Clinical Intern

    Megan holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from St. John’s University. She is currently working towards her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John’s University. Megan is committed to providing care to adolescents, young adults, and adults who are struggling to feel empowered and discover their strengths. Megan is a dedicated counselor whose goal is to empower her clients and provide them with care, compassion, and understanding. 

    Megan dedicates herself to support her clients along their wellness journey. Megan believes everyone is unique, therefore, she collaborates with her clients to find the most effective treatment approach tailored toward each individual. She utilizes and integrates techniques such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy and mindfulness to restructure negative-thought patterns, meet client goals, and create positive change. She is committed to being an advocate for her clients and incorporating multiculturalism into her practice. 

    Megan is eager and willing to expand her knowledge and collaborate with clients on their journeys to mental wellness. She looks forward to helping clients reach their fullest potential and grow into the best versions of themselves.

    Jojo is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling at New York Institute of Technology. Jojo utilizes a compassionate, person-centered approach to create a safe and affirming space for people looking to feel heard, respected, and empowered to take control of their life. Jojo has a passion for people and is committed to supporting individuals of diverse identities, whether you are seeking support for mental health concerns or simply looking for a space to better understand yourself. Jojo believes that therapy should be flexible and tailored to your unique needs, goals, and identities. They look forward to collaborating with you on the path to the life you want for yourself. 

  • Selena Qadir

    Advanced Clinical Intern

    Selena Qadir (She/Her) is currently attending Queens College as a graduate student in Mental Health Counseling. She is bilingual, fluent in both English and Dari; she identifies as Central and South Asian. Her cultural and first generation American background fosters a strong commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive mental health care. Through her experience as a school counseling intern, Selena has supported adolescents in navigating academic, social, family life, and major life transitions. She has worked closely with high school students as they prepared for the transition into college and coping with stress.

    Selena's clinical approach is collaborative, strengths based and set within a multicultural framework. From this perspective, she pulls from psychodynamic theory, which investigates early life experiences and family systems to track how these impact today's patterns and sense of identity. In her practice, she makes sure to emphasize the development of identity, increased self-awareness, realistic and constructive coping methods that deal with the very real stresses of everyday life.

    She is particularly passionate about supporting first generation Americans and individuals from immigrant backgrounds as they navigate the complexities of dual cultural identities. Selena is eager to collaborate with clients on their journey of mental wellness and a stronger self identity. She is committed to helping both adolescents and adults manage life transitions, process stress, and cultivate a sense of belonging and empowerment within their life. She is currently practicing under supervision of a licensed clinician. 

  • Ryan Nolan

    Advanced Clinical Intern

    Ryan Nolan (he/him/his) is a mental health counseling intern and graduate student at the University of Rochester with 6+ years of experience as a school counselor and career counselor. He has supported adults facing job loss, layoffs, and career-related stress, as well as teens and families navigating life transitions.

    His approach is collaborative and strengths-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused therapy, mindfulness practices, and a growth mindset framework. His focus is on helping clients build practical tools, self-awareness, and confidence in their ability to create meaningful change.

    Ryan strives to provide LGBTQ+ affirming, inclusive, and nonjudgmental care. He values creativity, self-expression, and balance, and often incorporates clients’ strengths and interests into the counseling process. Outside of counseling, his self care includes theatre, the arts, and outdoor exploring. He is practicing under the supervision of a licensed clinician.

  • Enrique Colon

    Advanced Clinical Intern

    Enrique Colon (they/he) is a graduate student at CUNY Baruch’s Mental Health Counseling program. They are dedicated to community-based action, advocacy, and justice, with a background of 3 years of case management for young adults with marginalized backgrounds developing their professional and personal goals. They are experienced in conflict mediation and resolution, as well as familiar with person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based approaches to therapeutic models. In addition, they have prior research experience with topics surrounding sex, LGBTQIA+, non-monogamy, and infidelity.

    Enrique’s therapeutic motivation lies in establishing, working toward, and fulfilling client’s goals via affirming care. They bring a passion for learning more about others’ experiences and empowering them to pursue healing, development, and growth. They envision a world where everyone feels capable to show up as their authentic selves and form healthy boundaries with themselves and others. Enrique strives to build counselor-client relationships founded on trust, openness, and determination informed by a restorative justice framework.

Who We Help

To determine the most appropriate path for you, we administer a comprehensive clinical assessment that includes a biopsychosocial which allows your clinician to gather a better understanding of who you are and goals you may have for treatment. With that information, your clinician will create a customized treatment plan of neurotherapy care. 

Your plan is unique to you and will vary in time and treatment based on your results and needs.
